In 2009, the game of York Field Stickball – The YFS – cut its teeth on an all-but-forgotten slab of concrete not far from the Manhattan Bridge in Brooklyn. The YFS founder and his friends didn’t like the bat and ball options available at the time, so they got to work disassembling everything they knew about America’s Pastime, while carefully adding back only the things they loved, and what they believed could make it even better.
