GALACTICS IV DISPATCH 02: LAST NOTES, REMINDERS, AND DEETS. WE MIXING IT UP IN LESS THAN 120 HOURS.

The Mechanic

Hola Jabringos,

YFS GALACTICS FOUR is almost here. We’re in the final stretch of spinning up a banger—wrapping up those fresh gifts under the YFS glory tree for you all to rip open this upcoming weekend. Team numbers are set. This is our biggest Galactics effort yet. Thanks for your belief, time, and money to make this merry-go-round fire. Beyond excited to see all of you this upcoming Thursday night at the meetup cantina.

A few last-minute notables for you.

Arrival note – Your five-piece Gucci luggage set complete with stickbats, skincare, and derby hat boxes you absolutely didn’t need but brought anyway.—I’m looking at you, 8-Ball—can be brought into the bar upon arrival. We have a room to safely store your gear before loading the buses post drink-up and draw.

Thursday night. It’s a cash bar. We tried group pay once and it was a disaster. Your entry fee is less because of this. There will be plenty of wallet-less drink and fare all weekend, so don’t fret.

Playlists: Each team should create a 6–8 hour playlist and download it before leaving a Wi-Fi signal. The home team gets pole position and plays their shit.

Bring battery packs. We’ll have speakers for the fields and some backup power, but lack of juice has sunk us before—so bring ‘em if you got ‘em.

The Fields: We usually keep our blindbox fields under wraps—and mostly will again. Friday and Sunday share a spanking new locale, used twice for reasons that may or may not make sense. Saturday returns to a G3 spot—with a twist. That’s all you get.

Bring cash for our charity auction and for end-of-the tournament tipping. It’s a YFS custom to tip our Toro-led Mexican staff if you feel they delivered, give what you can if you feel it.

Call times which you will receive on arrival are real. If you miss a morning bus because you slept in, that’s on you. Not saying we won’t scramble to come get you somehow—but you could put your team in jeopardy should you arrive in the 7th inning. Unless you can stop the sun from setting, game times will not be delayed.

Repeating this because it’s important–bring a day pack and layers/beanie on the daily. Yes it is Mexico in the spring but we are near the coast and temps can drop when the sun does, and Sunday will be a longer hang at the field—so be a bro scout. Also not a bad idea to review this list of “WHAT TO BRING” in the last blog post.

Holler with any questions – sayhey@yorkfield.com

Can’t. F’en. Wait.

So stoked to see you all.

To Love and Glory,
The Minister
